 Disney strikes again with their love of prix fixed menus at restaurants we love. The newest restaurant to join the prix fixed ranks is a personal favorite, the California Grill. Located on the 15th floor of Disney's Contemporary Resort, the California Grill not only offered stunning views of the Magic Kingdom and Seven Seas Lagoon, it offered diners an unforgettable dining experience with exceptional food and service and an impressive wine list. When it opened in 1995, the California Grill was considered a cutting-edge concept (especially for a theme park) for offering fresh, seasonal dishes prepared in the stunning on-stage kitchen. It quickly became a popular dining destination for guests of Walt Disney World. As part of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration,” California Grill will offer a "limited-time" three-course menu with dishes inspired by past favorites. Adults will be $89 each (plus tax and gratuity) and children will be $39 each (plus tax and gratuity). Here is the full 50th anniversary celebration menu.  From the Market Inspirations, The California Grill Sushi Classics Trio – Blue Crab California Roll, Shrimp Tempura Roll, Spicy Kazan Roll – brings together three of the most popular rolls on one plate. The Spicy Kazan Roll includes blue crab, yellowfin tuna tataki, and sweet shrimp. But what makes this sushi roll unique is the Fireball Sauce with bay scallops, avocado, and mango, bringing the flavor to another level.
The House-Made Artisanal-Style Duck á la Orange Pizza has a fun backstory. Long Island Duckling with Orange Sauce was on the original Top of the World menu, and with artisanal flatbreads and pizzas from the on-stage wood-fired grills being a guest favorite, it made perfect sense to marry the two! Enter this delicious pizza with duck prosciutto and confit, orange-black mission fig jam, pickled shallots, aged blue cheese, and arugula – an homage to the classic from Top of the World and a California Grill staple. The Oak-Fired Filet of Beef with Black Truffle-Brown Butter Château Potatoes, Golden Raisins Vinaigrette, Cauliflower, and Black Garlic Butter has layers of incredible flavors. The Château Potatoes are beyond fabulous – slowly cooked in brown butter and topped with freshly shaved black winter truffles. “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” deserves a classic dessert that never goes out of style, and this delectable EARidescent Grand Marnier Soufflé is perfection. Served table-side with macerated Florida citrus and a delicious house-made Creamsicle Ice Cream. A sweet ending, indeed. This menu will be offered starting October 3, with reservations available September 23.  As part of The World’s Most Magical Celebration, Guests staying at Disney Deluxe Resort Hotels or Disney Deluxe Villas can enjoy Extended Evening Hours – experiencing select attractions, shops and dining after regular park hours – in select theme parks on select nights.
Together with early theme park entry, which is available to all Disney Resort hotel Guests, Guests will get to arrive earlier and stay later so they can maximize their time in the parks during The World’s Most Magical Celebration! To enjoy these benefits, Guests will need a valid Resort ID, valid admission and a theme park reservation for the same park on the same day. (Or a ticket or annual pass with the Park Hopper option, provided the Guest entered the park where made their reservation earlier in the day.) We have been given a little bit more information about these extended hours.

These new shows will be debuting October 1 as part of The World’s Most Magical Celebration.  “Disney Enchantment” will be evening extravaganza at the Magic Kingdom that will take you on a journey filled with adventure, wonder and empowerment. Inspiring everyone to believe in magic, “Disney Enchantment” will feature music, enhanced lighting, stunning fireworks and, for the first time, immersive projection effects that extend from Cinderella Castle down Main Street, U.S.A.  “Harmonious” at EPCOT, one of the largest nighttime spectaculars ever created for a Disney park. This new show will bring the globe together at World Showcase Lagoon in a celebration of Disney music that inspires people worldwide. It’s a grand, powerful tribute to the stories and songs that unite us, embracing new technical magic that incorporates pyrotechnics, choreographed moving fountains, lighting and media in new ways. “Harmonious” will invite you to travel the globe through new interpretations of classic Disney songs as you’ve never heard them before, reimagined in more than a dozen languages by a diverse group of 240 artists from around the world. That means this summer is also your last chance to watch the current fireworks shows before they sparkle into Disney history. “EPCOT Forever” will show for the last time on September 28, and “Happily Ever After” will end on September 29 at Magic Kingdom Park. It is the news the agents at Simply Perfect Vacations have been not-so patiently waiting for - the opening date for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure at EPCOT! In case you're unfamiliar with Remy's Ratatouille Adventure, here is a quick recap: Remy, also known as “Little Chef” has a beloved attraction at Disneyland Paris. Well it was announced a few years ago that this attraction would be making its way to the France Pavilion at Epcot and recently we have seen the construction of the building - along with more - make their way into the France Pavilion. We now have a grand opening date set - October 1st of this year! If this date may sounds familiar, you have been paying attention. This is the same date that Walt Disney World will be celebrating its 50th anniversary with the start of “The World’s Most Magical Celebration”! This celebration will be an 18-month event that will feature new experiences at the four Walt Disney World theme parks and beyond, where shimmering EARidescent décor will appear as if by magic. At EPCOT, Chef Remy will be helping kick off “The World’s Most Magical Celebration” in Parisian style. While riding Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, guests will feel like they’ve shrunk to the size of Chef Remy as they scurry through Gusteau’s famous restaurant on a wild adventure for the whole family. There will be no height requirement for this attraction so the whole family can ride! Based on Disney and Pixar’s Academy Award®-winning “Ratatouille,” the experience will be part of a newly expanded France pavilion inside EPCOT that will also open October 1st.  When entering into this new section of the France pavilion, guests will be transported into a version of Paris that feels straight out of the animated movie. As you can see, it’s easy to understand why little Remy fell so head-over-heels in love with the “city of lights.”  Also opening October 1st will be La Crêperie de Paris, a new restaurant offering both table- and quick-service options. The menu will feature sweet crepes, savory buckwheat galettes (naturally gluten friendly) and authentic French hard cider. The attraction, restaurant and pavilion expansion are all part of the historic transformation of EPCOT currently underway, celebrating how the impossible becomes possible through the power of imagination … and a little Disney magic.
