 Mark your calendars: The 2024 EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival presented by CORKCICLE takes place at Walt Disney World August 29 through November 23, 2024! Here are a few things guests won’t want to miss at this year’s festival. Global Marketplaces Of course, it wouldn’t be the EPCOT Food & Wine Festival without the FOOD! Foodie fans can look forward to so many mouthwatering returning favorites.  Once again guests can indulge in Belgian Waffles with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream or Warm Chocolate Ganache at the Belgium Global Marketplace.  In Germany, say “guten tag” to Apple Strudel with Vanilla Sauce, while just over the mountain, The Alps will feature Dark Chocolate Fondue with Berries, Pound Cake, and Meringues.  Are guests looking for tropical flavors that will whisk them away to paradise? Passionfruit Cheesecake with Toasted Macadamia Nuts will breeze back in the Hawai’i Marketplace! This is a favorite of the Simply Perfect Vacations' agents! Say Roquefort! (Or Gruyere or Gouda if guests prefer.) That’s right – Emile’s Fromage Montage also returns in 2024. This fun food stroll encourages guests to sample a variety of delicious cheeses served in inventive ways. Guests can purchase any five cheese dishes from the official Global Marketplaces list in their Festival Passport and collect a stamp for each dish purchased. Once they’ve collected all five stamps, they can bring the passport to the specified location for a specialty unique item to enjoy! That’s just an amuse bouche to excite guests for all the delectable flavors that are to come. Crave-able Merch  Guests can take home a taste of the fun with magnificent merchandise that keeps the magic alive between visits, featuring beloved friends, like Remy from “Ratatouille” and Mickey Mouse.  And here’s a fun reveal: Everyone’s favorite purple dragon, Figment, will also be cooking up some fun this fall just in time for the festival. Want to see more? CommuniCore Hall will open on June 10 in the heart of World Celebration. And, once the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival begins, the new space will add exciting fresh elements to the festival. Eat to the Beat Concert Series, Scavenger Hunts and More As evening falls, chart-topping musical acts and Orlando’s top talent will take to the stage as part of the Eat to the Beat Concert Series presented by Florida Blue. Performances will take place nightly in the America Gardens Theatre. Eat to the Beat Dining Packages will also return, ensuring guests can get seats for their favorite acts. Since opening its foreboding front doors at Disneyland Park in 1969, the Haunted Mansion and the lore surrounding it has captured the mortal hearts of Disney Parks goers, inspiring three subsequent attractions, multiple film adaptations, merchandise lines and plans for a soon-to-debut bar onboard the Disney Treasure. Plans for the Haunted Mansion Parlor will honor more than five decades of fandom and introduce the world to the next chapter of the Haunted Mansion saga. Disney Cruise Line and Disney Imagineers will harness the power of design to convey the nostalgia of the original attraction alongside a new nautical storyline. The venue will resemble a well-appointed ship parlor, which once belonged to a jovial sea captain and his strange, but captivating fiancé. With so many rumors swirling about, it’s hard to say what happened to the happy couple following their sudden and mysterious disappearances – but our most discerning guests may glean the truth by deciphering clues hidden around the bar.
Something Seems Fishy About This Aquarium When plans for the original Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland were well underway, celebrated Disney Imagineer Rolly Crump proposed a creative concept for a “Museum of the Weird” exhibit. As the final design took shape, many of Rolly’s initial ideas were realized throughout the attraction. However, a few of his concepts remained in the vault, living on thanks to dedicated fans and Disney historians. One such concept was a mysterious aquarium, filled with ghost fish. More than fifty years later, the sketch Rolly developed was referenced by a new generation of Disney Imagineers to create a modern “Aquarium with Ghost Fish” for the Haunted Mansion Parlor. Blending nostalgia with a fresh layer of lore, the aquarium will fold into the curious backstory of the parlor’s former sea captain owner. Legends passed down from The Captain’s devoted crew recount how he was last seen heading to his parlor for a special meal prepared by his betrothed. All that remained after The Captain and his bride seemingly vanished was his hat, which was found floating in the aquarium tank. Perhaps his disappearance grants a new meaning to “fish food.” An Eerie Art Collection The Haunted Mansion Parlor’s eerie portrait gallery will depict some of the wandering souls that have taken up residence onboard the Disney Treasure. The collection of works will be reminiscent of the quintessential paintings inside the Haunted Mansion attraction, mimicking the art stylings used by Disney Imagineers in 1969. The portrait gallery will also incorporate present-day technologies to allow the ghostly residents to entertain guests in new ways.  The concept for The Mariner was created by famed Disney animator Marc Davis. The portrait first occupied the halls of the original Haunted Mansion attraction and later made its way to the attractions at Walt Disney World Resort and Tokyo Disney Resort. The Mariner’s story will be taken to new depths when he takes his place in the Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure and continues to uphold Marc Davis’ impactful legacy.  A distinguished portrait of the good-humored sea captain will also grace the walls of the Haunted Mansion Parlor. His lifelong dream of serving on a luxury ocean liner was cut short after his untimely demise, but his merry soul has lingered on in his private parlor.
The likeness of The Captain’s enigmatic bride-to-be will take cues from Marc Davis’ iconic “cat lady” concept, which was also featured in the original attraction. Inside the Haunted Mansion Parlor, her portrait will flicker to reveal her true form and perhaps, her true intentions. Tales of the doomed couple’s first encounter all begin when The Captain received a dramatic distress transmission from another vessel. He wasted no time in altering his course to aid in the rescue, but as he neared the source of the call, he found only a mangled wreckage and a lone survivor – a woman floating amongst the debris. With bright green eyes, chestnut hair and a golden key hanging about her neck, it is no wonder that The Captain was immediately taken by her beauty. The pair became inseparable and were soon engaged to be wed.
A Ghostly Line of Drinkware
The portraits inside Haunted Mansion Parlor will also lend inspiration to a Disney Cruise Line-exclusive commemorative mug collection that will debut onboard the Disney Treasure. The ceramic mugs will appear to be carved from the worn wooden planks of a ghost ship. These early sketches and models illustrate the first in a series coming to the Disney Treasure – one inspired by The Mariner and other by The Captain’s bride. The Haunted Mansion Parlor will begin welcoming foolish mortals when the Disney Treasure sets sail on its maiden voyage on Dec. 21. You’ll explore the lush Louisiana marsh, traversing the winding waterways in search of a lively cast of animal friends who can tickle the ivories, fiddle strings fantastically and flat-out jam. As you make new critter friends along the way, behold the magic in the air as fireflies illuminate the sky—making your view as pretty as a magnolia in May. Your journey will be filled with excitement where anything can happen in the bayou, so be sure to hold on tight. Drop on in for some fun where bayou thrills meets Disney magic! Tips for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure: 1. Drop on in-to virtual queue... When Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opens on June 28, it will use a virtual queue. Guests can request to join the virtual queue via the My Disney Experience app at one of two times: 7 a.m. or 1 p.m. While a standby queue will not be available during the attraction’s initial opening days, we expect to open a standby queue soon after the attraction’s opening. 2. Or purchase Disney Genie+ service. Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will also be included as a Lightning Lane entrance in Disney Genie+ service. Purchasing this service on the My Disney Experience app helps guests get to some of their favorite attractions faster through Lightning Lane entrances and includes digital downloads of select Disney PhotoPass attraction photos taken in the park on the day of purchase. Guests may check the app on the day of their visit for pricing and availability. 3. Smile for the camera! No party is complete without pictures. As guests make their way through the bayou to get to Tiana’s party, Disney PhotoPass Service will serve up a special photo when they’re almost there!  4. Be prepared to get wet! At some point when guests drop on in to Tiana’s party, there’s a strong chance riders may get wet. While most guests will appreciate the refreshing cool down, others may want to bring their rain gear. 5. Shop new attraction merchandise After riding the new attraction, we can bet guests will want to take a piece of the bayou home with them. Starting June 28, guests can find the collections for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and “The Princess and the Frog”-inspired merchandise at the Emporium at Magic Kingdom. Shortly after the attraction debuts, the merchandise will hop over to Critter Co-Op in Frontierland.  6. Try some of Tiana’s Famous Beignets!

It’s time to kick off the festivities with a Halfway to Halloween celebration, and we’re conjuring up more spooky spectacles at this separately-ticketed event! This year’s event kicks off Aug. 9 and will take place on select nights through Oct. 31 at Magic Kingdom Park at Walt Disney World Resort. Tickets go on sale for guests staying at select Walt Disney World Resort hotels, Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin Hotels, and Shades of Green on May 8. Here’s what’s in store for Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in 2024:  New costumes for Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse Get ready to strike a scary pose! Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse will greet guests during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party in their brand-new neon spiderweb attire.  More Villains Sightings From the moment Mickey's Not-So-Scary Halloween Party begins and throughout Magic Kingdom guests will be able to spot their favorite sinister villains and ghoulish foes—and they might even get to take a selfie with them!  Bust a move during the DescenDANCE Party Guests can let loose and show off their best villain DescenDANCE Party, taking place at Rockettower Plaza Stage in Tomorrowland. This new rave is inspired by the upcoming Disney Original Movie “Descendants: The Rise of Red;” premiering on Disney+ on July 12.  Bruno Madrigal joins the fun It’s time to talk about Bruno! For the first time during the party, guests can meet the clairvoyant character from “Encanto” alongside Mirabel at their Casita in Fairytale Garden.  New earlier start time for “Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade”! This year, the fan-favorite parade will take place a full hour earlier, 8:15pm to be exact – perfect for those guests attending with little ones who want to enjoy the spooky fun before it’s bedtime.
