Disney Cruise Line Health & Safety Update

Beginning Oct. 14, 2022, for Disney Wonder, Disney Dream, Disney Fantasy, and Disney Wish sailings and Nov. 7, 2022 for Disney Magic sailings: Disney Cruise Line will no longer require Guests to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of sailing, however, it is highly recommended.

All Guests ages 5 years and older who are not fully vaccinated (Unvaccinated Guests) will need to submit proof of a negative COVID-19 test taken 1-2 days before the sail date. Guests ages 4 years of age and younger do not require testing.

Disney World Hurricane Tips

It looks like Hurricane Ian is forecasted to make landfall in Florida near the Castle! And Florida is busy preparing for landfall. To help keep Guests safe, here are some tips for those visiting Walt Disney World during a hurricane:

Try rescheduling your trip - either arrive later than planned or leave earlier than planned! The Orlando International Airport is closing at 10:30AM Wednesday September 28th. Sanford International Airport (about an hour away from Walt Disney World) is scheduled to close after the last departure flight on Wednesday at 4:00PM. if you're arriving when the hurricane is expected to make landfall (most airlines will cancel or reschedule flights for safety reasons) and Walt Disney World is waiving cancellation fees for guests arriving 9/26 - 10/4.

If you've decided its best to hunker down, you can't change your travel dates due to availability, or you can't get out before the hurricane makes landfall:

Make an Amazon Prime or local grocery delivery to your resort ASAP! Order bottles of water, juice, adult beverages, flashlights, batteries for the flashlight, non-perishable food, ziplock baggies, diapers (if you need them), entertainment that doesn't require electricity (board games, cards, coloring books, etc) and a cooler that you can fill with ice from the resort's ice machines can help keep some times cold for a short time. If you cannot get items delivered to your resort shop the park(s) and resort gift shop. In the past hurricanes, the Disney Resorts have supplied food but there weren't options and the lines were long.
Get to an ATM to get cash if the power goes out you won't be able to make purchases using a credit card.
Stay safe and listen to the Cast Members at the Parks and Resorts as well as the local authorities. Some resorts will close temporarily for safety reasons. Resorts that are currently listed to close temporarily: Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground, Copper Creek Cabins at Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Treehouse Villas at Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa and the Bungalows at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. Guests will be moved to different resorts.
Disney’s Typhoon Lagoon and Winter Summerland Miniature Golf and Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf will close temporarily Wednesday, Sept. 28 and Thursday, Sept. 29. (Disney’s Blizzard Beach is currently closed).
Make sure your electronics and backup battery packs are fully charged.
If you're packing to go: bring extra pairs of shoes, rain jacket, extra clothes in case you have to stay longer than anticipated; entertainment that doesn't require electricity or being outdoors (board games, cards, coloring books, etc). Bring water (in checked bags), food and snacks with you.
Fill the bathtub and sink(s) with water so you can flush toilet with (will need to fill the tank with water with cups).
Be nice and courteous to the Cast Members. They are at the resorts keeping you safe while their own homes with their families and pets are without them.

If you're on a Disney Cruise, as of September 26, at 9:00 PM, Disney Cruise Line anticipates that the Disney Wish, Disney Fantasy and Disney Dream will sail as scheduled. However, there is a possibility that the Disney Wish will return to Port Canaveral on Friday, September 30, later than originally scheduled. We will notify Guests should it be necessary to delay embarkation for the September 30 Disney Wish sailing.
