The Disney Dream will finish out the season with three-, four-, and seven-night sailings out of Southampton, United Kingdom to Northern Europe and the Norwegian Fjords. Exploration awaits guests in the quaint, idyllic village of Olden, Norway; the seaside capital of Copenhagen, Denmark; the rocky shores of Portland, United Kingdom; and many more exciting ports of call.  Tropical Getaways from Central Florida Guests seeking a sunny escape will be able to depart from Port Canaveral, Florida on three different Disney Cruise Line ships to destinations in The Bahamas and Eastern or Western Caribbean, including stops at Disney’s tropical retreats, Disney Castaway Cay and Disney Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point. Both offering Bahamian itineraries, the Disney Fantasy will set sail on four- and five-night voyages and the Disney Wish will depart on three- and four-night voyages.  Simply Perfect Vacations was invited to sail on the brand new Disney Treasure cruise ship in December 2024 - before it opened officially to guests! We embarked on a three night sailing out of Port Canaveral, the Disney Treasure’s homeport, and really got to experience the ship and what it offers to guests. First up the stateroom! We stayed in stateroom 9146, a Deluxe Family Oceanview Stateroom with Verandah. This Pixar movie “Up” themed stateroom sleeps 5 guests in 284 square feet with one queen bed; a couch that flips into a twin bed; an upper pull down twin bed; and a wall twin bed that pulls down (all by your stateroom attendant while you’re at dinner so you don’t have to worry about it!). It also had the split bathroom that is very convenient for getting ready with a family or even a group of friends! Check out the video below for a tour of this stateroom. We had 4 adults staying in this stateroom and we were very pleased with the space and didn’t feel cramped as we each had our own bed and the split bathroom allowed 2 of us to get ready at once and one at the vanity. There was also plenty of storage from two full length closets with shelving inside one of them with a safe; more shelving just outside of the closet and a spacious vanity/desk/entertainment area with many storage shelves and drawers for more storage. All of the storage meant we got to completely unpack and put away our suitcases under the bed so there weren’t any tripping hazards. The vanity/desk area also had a mini-drawer refrigerator where we were able to store the wine and drinks we brought onboard with us. A curtain that separates the queen bed from the other 3 beds for if you want some privacy or to keep the kid’s sleeping area darker while the parents stay up after the younger ones have gone to bed. The bedding was all very comfortable and we slept well on premium plush Euro-top mattress with a soft duvet (you can ask for extras if you like a lot of blankets) and Frette 300-thread-count, 100 percent cotton sheets. The staterooms bathrooms on the Treasure are gorgeous and I love that there is a glass door instead of a shower curtain to a rectangle tub. The bathroom with the sink and toilet also has a nightlight so you don’t have to worry about keeping a “too bright” light on in the middle of the night.  My favorite part of the room is the verandah. I love having a private outdoor space where I can enjoy breakfast on the patio while watching the ports we are docked in come alive with the hustle and bustle of visitors. At the end of the port day, I enjoy having a drink on the verandah while reading a book or having a quiet moment while watching the port as the ship sails away.
Overall, I was very pleased with this stateroom location, it is conveniently located to the stairs and elevator - down the hall a bit so you don’t get a lot of noise from the stairwells and elevator vestibule. As for the Disney Treasure, I was simply blown away by this new ship! From the amazing main dining restaurants; to the pools and new AquaCoster; to the fun themed lounges; to the incredibly well-done Kids Clubs; and the adults only spaces - I cannot wait to get back onboard for a 7-night cruise out of Port Canaveral. You too are going to want to get on this ship and have dinner int he Coco themed restaurant with Miguel in his family; grab a cocktail at the Haunted Mansion Parlor; and enjoy the new Moana stage show. The venue will resemble a well-appointed ship parlor, which once belonged to a jovial sea captain and his strange, but captivating fiancé. With so many rumors swirling about, it’s hard to say what happened to the happy couple following their sudden and mysterious disappearances – but our most discerning guests may glean the truth by deciphering clues hidden around the bar.
Something Seems Fishy About This Aquarium When plans for the original Haunted Mansion attraction at Disneyland were well underway, celebrated Disney Imagineer Rolly Crump proposed a creative concept for a “Museum of the Weird” exhibit. As the final design took shape, many of Rolly’s initial ideas were realized throughout the attraction. However, a few of his concepts remained in the vault, living on thanks to dedicated fans and Disney historians. One such concept was a mysterious aquarium, filled with ghost fish. More than fifty years later, the sketch Rolly developed was referenced by a new generation of Disney Imagineers to create a modern “Aquarium with Ghost Fish” for the Haunted Mansion Parlor. Blending nostalgia with a fresh layer of lore, the aquarium will fold into the curious backstory of the parlor’s former sea captain owner. Legends passed down from The Captain’s devoted crew recount how he was last seen heading to his parlor for a special meal prepared by his betrothed. All that remained after The Captain and his bride seemingly vanished was his hat, which was found floating in the aquarium tank. Perhaps his disappearance grants a new meaning to “fish food.” An Eerie Art Collection The Haunted Mansion Parlor’s eerie portrait gallery will depict some of the wandering souls that have taken up residence onboard the Disney Treasure. The collection of works will be reminiscent of the quintessential paintings inside the Haunted Mansion attraction, mimicking the art stylings used by Disney Imagineers in 1969. The portrait gallery will also incorporate present-day technologies to allow the ghostly residents to entertain guests in new ways.  The concept for The Mariner was created by famed Disney animator Marc Davis. The portrait first occupied the halls of the original Haunted Mansion attraction and later made its way to the attractions at Walt Disney World Resort and Tokyo Disney Resort. The Mariner’s story will be taken to new depths when he takes his place in the Haunted Mansion Parlor on the Disney Treasure and continues to uphold Marc Davis’ impactful legacy.  A distinguished portrait of the good-humored sea captain will also grace the walls of the Haunted Mansion Parlor. His lifelong dream of serving on a luxury ocean liner was cut short after his untimely demise, but his merry soul has lingered on in his private parlor.
The likeness of The Captain’s enigmatic bride-to-be will take cues from Marc Davis’ iconic “cat lady” concept, which was also featured in the original attraction. Inside the Haunted Mansion Parlor, her portrait will flicker to reveal her true form and perhaps, her true intentions. Tales of the doomed couple’s first encounter all begin when The Captain received a dramatic distress transmission from another vessel. He wasted no time in altering his course to aid in the rescue, but as he neared the source of the call, he found only a mangled wreckage and a lone survivor – a woman floating amongst the debris. With bright green eyes, chestnut hair and a golden key hanging about her neck, it is no wonder that The Captain was immediately taken by her beauty. The pair became inseparable and were soon engaged to be wed.
A Ghostly Line of Drinkware
The portraits inside Haunted Mansion Parlor will also lend inspiration to a Disney Cruise Line-exclusive commemorative mug collection that will debut onboard the Disney Treasure. The ceramic mugs will appear to be carved from the worn wooden planks of a ghost ship. These early sketches and models illustrate the first in a series coming to the Disney Treasure – one inspired by The Mariner and other by The Captain’s bride. The Haunted Mansion Parlor will begin welcoming foolish mortals when the Disney Treasure sets sail on its maiden voyage on Dec. 21.
