 TRON Lightcycle / Run officially opens April 4 at Magic Kingdom Park!
The story of TRON Lightcycle / Run picks up after “TRON: Legacy” where Kevin’s son, Sam Flynn, has opened a second gateway into a digital world called the Grid. The first portal was built at Shanghai Disneyland with the original TRON Lightcycle Power Run. When guests enter the queue at Magic Kingdom, they’ll feel as if they've been digitized and transported to the Grid for a special Lightcycle race. It’s your Team Blue against the Grid’s menacing Programs, Team Orange. Your goal is to be the first to race through eight Energy Gates and secure victory. The attraction will be one of the fastest coasters at any Disney theme park in the world.  'Happily Ever After' is coming back to the Magic Kingdom on April 3! The new version of the show will feature all-new projections down Main Street!
Now the sad news, the final ‘Harmonious’ performance will take place on April 2. ‘EPCOT Forever’ will return as an interim show starting April 3 as the phased removal of fireworks platforms occurs. While I did not like the firework platforms on the showcase lagoon, I really love this nighttime show. It is just so much fun! Several major live entertainment experiences will be returning to Walt Disney World Resort during The World’s Most Magical Celebration, and some of the shows are retruning with new additions and enhancements!  Walt Disney World will be bringing a reimagined version of “Finding Nemo: The Musical” to Theater in the Wild at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. This newly updated show will be called “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!” This new show is set in the timeline of the movie “Finding Dory.” When Guests take a seat in the theater, they’ll find themselves at the Marine Life Institute. As the show begins, you will catch up with the fish from Dr. P. Sherman’s office in “Finding Nemo,” who have made their way across the ocean to California. They tell the story of Nemo and how they all got there, incorporating many of the beloved songs and production numbers from the original show. “Finding Nemo: The Big Blue… and Beyond!” is getting ready to open in 2022.  “Fantasmic!” will also be returning to Disney’s Hollywood Studios in 2022. When this incredible spectacular reopens next year, it will incorporate an all-new sequence featuring live performers, stunts, special effects and more! DISNEY ON BROADWAY Concert Series, along with the 2022 EPCOT International Festival of the Arts, will take place January 14 – February 21. Expect a fantastic lineup of talented artists like Arielle Jacobs (Aladdin); Adam Jacobs (Aladdin); Kerry Butler (Beauty and the Beast); Telly Leung (Aladdin); Heidi Blickenstaff (Freaky Friday, The Little Mermaid) and Robert Creighton (Frozen); Kara Lindsay (Newsies) and Dan DeLuca (Newsies); Ashley Brown (Mary Poppins) and Josh Strickland (Tarzan); Kissy Simmons (The Lion King) and Michael James Scott (Aladdin) who will be performing during the Festival.  Live entertainment will return to the Cinderella Castle Forecourt Stage at the Magic Kingdom early next year, with a show newly enhanced for the 50th Anniversary celebration. “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” will incorporate favorite scenes from the previous version of the show – with sequences inspired by “Frozen,” “Tangled,” and “The Princess and the Frog” – plus a new opening and a new finale with Mickey Mouse and all his friends in their sparkling, EARidescent fashions. The show will also include an all-new, original song entitled “Where the Magic Feels Like Home.” “Mickey’s Magical Friendship Faire” will be a wonderful addition to our live entertainment lineup for the 50th Anniversary celebration.  Since the parks reopened last year, favorite Disney characters have been appearing in cavalcades that travel the parade route at Magic Kingdom Park. These cavalcades have been very popular and will continue to be part of the park entertainment experience into the future. Mickey’s Celebration Cavalcade debuted October 1st as part of the 50th Anniversary, and later this winter, a new cavalcade, the Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade will join the fun. The Disney Adventure Friends Cavalcade will feature the most characters of any cavalcade to date and will include Nick and Judy from “Zootopia,” Baloo and King Louie from “The Jungle Book,” José Carioca and Panchito from “The Three Caballeros,” Miguel from “Coco,” plus Merida, Moana, The Incredibles, and so many more!  And in early 2022, these cavalcades will be joined by the return of the Disney “Festival of Fantasy” Parade. This vibrant and joyous celebration of Fantasyland brings to the streets of Magic Kingdom Park dozens of beloved Disney characters and stories, from the Disney Princess Garden to a carnival of color presided over by none other than Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse.
